Meet your Photographer

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It all started back in Year 10 in a media class, taking photos of my friends. Something about it just clicked. It never felt like schoolwork, it felt natural and I knew I wanted to keep going.

That passion led me to change schools so I could study a more creative and inspiring VCE program. In Year 12, I found a course that stood out straight away. It combined photography with film, which made it feel completely different to anything else. I applied and was accepted almost immediately. I didn’t even look at my other offers. I just knew this was it.

After finishing my studies, I started working with a travelling photography studio in a shopping centre and that’s where everything really came to life. I fell in love with photographing babies, kids and families. More than that, I discovered how much I loved connecting with people. Every session gave me a small glimpse into someone’s world and I knew this was what I wanted to do.

But I wanted more than just a small part of the process.

I wanted to be there for all of it. From the first conversation, to capturing the images, to editing and finally handing them over. So I started photographing families in their homes and on location, bringing all my equipment with me. It was a lot of work and definitely not the easiest path, but it was a start and I loved every second of it.

That was the beginning of Little M Photography. Why “Little M” you ask? This comes from a nickname someone once called me because I’m petite in stature. It stuck with me over time and eventually felt like the perfect fit for my business! It ties in beautifully with photographing little humans.

After four years working for a company and doing my own work on the side, I took a leap and opened my very first studio at just 21 years old. I dove straight in. Long days in the studio, late nights behind the scenes and doing whatever it took to build something of my own. With the support of those around me, I grew that studio over the next nine years into something I was so proud of.

Over time, I found my rhythm and really understood what I loved most. I slowly stepped away from events and focused on newborn and family photography, where my heart had always been.

Then life changed in the best way.

After having my first son, and navigating everything that came with COVID and restrictions, I made the decision to move my studio home when he turned one. It gave me something I didn’t realise I needed so much – balance. More time with my family, while still being able to do the work I love every day.

And now, here I am.

Now a mum of two, working from my home studio, capturing families in a way that feels relaxed, natural and true to them.

Because I know just how quickly these seasons pass.

And that’s why I care so much about documenting them for you. Your children change so much, especially in the first few years of their life. I want to capture that for you. Not only how they look, but how it feels to have them if your life.
